What Information Is Needed for a Solar Project Quotation? X-SOLAR Checklist

At minimum, provide the project location, roof drawings and photos, usable area, roof type, structural load information, environmental design conditions, preferred mounting concept, electrical interface, delivery destination and target schedule.

1. Project and site basics

2. Roof information

Provide roof plans, usable dimensions, obstructions, slope or curvature, substrate and sheet profile, recent photos, roof age, corrosion, leaks and repairs. For curved roofs, include radius or measured geometry rather than a visual estimate.

3. Structural and environmental data

State the verified allowable roof load, design wind pressure, snow load, seismic requirements where relevant, edge and corner zones, drainage paths and local code basis. Module weight alone is not enough to price a complete engineered system.

4. Mounting, waterproofing and access

Describe whether adhesive bonding, rails, clamps or another concept is being considered; identify substrate coatings and waterproofing restrictions. Include fire pathways, maintenance access, cable routes and inverter locations.

5. Electrical and commercial scope

Clarify DC/AC scope, grid voltage, inverter preference, monitoring, packaging, Incoterms, destination port, warranty documentation and required certificates. A budget quotation is not final structural or electrical approval.
