Lightweight 560W Solar Modules for Metal and Low-Load Roofs: Selection and Installation Considerations
Lightweight 560W Solar Modules for Metal and Low-Load Roofs
Start with roof conditions, not a generic module choice
X-SOLAR XSFM-560-T2 is a 560W N-TOPCon lightweight module platform offered in frameless flexible and framed lightweight configurations. Final selection should consider roof geometry, substrate condition, allowable structural loading, wind, drainage, waterproofing and applicable local codes.
Suitable curved and load-constrained roof applications
The frameless flexible configuration has an area weight of 3.1 kg/m². It measures 2260 × 1200 × 2.7 mm, weighs 8.4 kg and has a minimum bending radius of 0.5 m. It may conform to a suitable curved roof during installation, but is not designed for repeated or cyclic bending because this may cause solar-cell microcracks.
Suitable flat and low-slope roof applications
The framed lightweight configuration has an area weight of 4.8 kg/m². It measures 2260 × 1245 × 25 mm and weighs 13.5 kg. It can be considered for suitable conventional mounting formats using rails with single clamps and double clamps.
Installation review checklist
Confirm roof substrate, geometry and allowable structural loading. Review wind, drainage, waterproofing and local-code requirements. For applicable projects, consider a non-penetrating adhesive installation approach; the final fixing method depends on roof conditions and project design. Complete project-specific structural and waterproofing review before installation.
